Today’s reading: Psalm 120:1-7

Psalm 120 is one of the psalms where we don’t see a resolution to the physical hardship that is impacting and taking place around the psalmist. We do see, however, that God hears the psalmist’s cry of distress and answers him (vs. 1). While I prefer a total happy ending package (physical, spiritual and emotional resolution), that’s simply not how life typically goes. So I am thankful for the example set out in Psalm 120 because it reaffirms what I already know deep in my heart–that no matter the situation, I can have peace when I choose to rest in God!

How do you tend to interact with God when you’re in the middle of turmoil or difficulty? Are you comfortable crying out to, and talking candidly with, Him? What’s one example of how prayer has strengthened and sustained you through a difficult situation? Tami
