Today’s reading: Colossians 3:23-24, Proverbs 14:23

With today being Labor Day in the U.S., I decided to take a one-day break from 2 Samuel and focus on two informative passages having to do with our work, Colossians 4:23-24 and Proverbs 14:23.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” Colossians 4:23-24.

“In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty” Proverbs 14:23.

Do you think of your work (job, school, parenting, volunteering) as “serving the Lord Christ”? What does working heartily as for the Lord mean for you personally? How have you experienced the message of Proverbs 14:23? Tami
