Speakers: Pastor Dwayne Carson and Dr. Roy Smith, PhD, MDiv.

Dwayne Carson
Dwayne Carson is a passionate believer in disciple making. To that end, he realizes the need for Pastors/Leaders to understand the value of refueling since you cannot serve from an empty tank. Dwayne served as a Campus Pastor at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA for 25 years with his primary responsibility being focused on Student Leadership. He has since been a Pastor, a Head of School and now, with his wife, Donita, has started a Ministry called Date the Word with a primary emphasis on getting people back into the Word of God on a deeper level in unique ways. Through this ministry, he continues to speak through many venues on various topics of Leadership, Discipleship, Christian Education, Pastoral Health and Home Life. He and Donita are both members of the Board of Directors for Servant’s Oasis.

Roy Smith
Dr. Roy Smith has worked for nearly forty years as a psychologist and counselor to men and their families. Pennsylvania Counseling Services, which he began out of his home, offers a variety of services in eleven counties in South Central PA. While building his practice, Roy observed many individuals giving themselves to serve others while neglecting their own well-being and spiritual health. The needs of these servant-leaders sparked a dream for a retreat center where they could go to refresh their spirits, enrich their lives, and equip themselves to increase their impact. In 1993, Roy founded Servant’s Oasis to address that need. Roy is also an ordained minister with the Evangelical Church Alliance. He also developed LiveUp Resources, a ministry that produces books and video series to guide men, women, and youth toward their God-given potential.
