Today’s reading: 1 Samuel 25:1-44
Today our focus is on Abigail, who is one of my favorite female characters in the Bible. She was quite a woman. Staying with the format I used yesterday, here’s my list of what stood out to me from Abigail’s example:
- Discerning
- Humble yet bold to speak when necessary
- Trusted and respected by those around her
- Decisive
- Good communicator
- Influencer
- Recognized God and that David was chosen by Him
The way Abigail chose to handle the potentially catastrophic situation presented to her by the servants highlights what a wise and discerning woman she was. And the fact that Nabal’s servants trusted, respected and reached out to her conveys volumes about Abigail.
