Today’s reading: Psalm 72:1-20
Since we’re focusing on justice and just living this week, Psalm 72 came to mind. This psalm of David puts before us a wonderful example of an attitude and heart for right thinking and living. David is seeking and asking God to help him be a just (moral, right, ethical, fair) leader. I particularly liked David’s request that he “be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth” (vs. 6), because of how it shows that a key component of just living is having a kind and caring heart for others.
What’s one thing you learned or noticed about justice and living rightly from this psalm? What does this psalm show us about the importance of and need for restorative justice? Do you pray and ask God to help you have a just mindset? Why is this important? Tami
