Today’s reading: 1 Peter 3:1-7

“Actions speak louder than words” is a well-known saying, and based on what I’ve experienced, it certainly hits the mark. Our conduct truly does broadcast the condition of our heart.

Peter delivers a similar message in 1 Peter 3:1-7, where he writes about how our actions, attitudes and words serve as powerful, spiritual examples to those in our household–and specifically our spouses. I’ve experienced this from both sides, being an example to my husband and, in turn, receiving an example from him. I’m thankful for Peter’s reminder that when our hearts are right with God, our actions will highlight Christ and draw people closer to Him and us.

How often do you think about your actions, attitudes and words being a spiritual example to those around you (and if you’re married, specifically to your spouse)? How can you be more intentional when it comes to being a spiritual example at home? What about at work, school or in your neighborhood? Identify one or two actions you can take. Be specific. Tami
