Today’s reading: Galatians 3:1-14; Ephesians 2:8-9

Our salvation is not dependent on us “working out” or “doing” good things on God’s behalf. Rather, the Gospel message is all about faith. If we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we will be saved.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Nothing we do in our own strength can ever save us, nor will it change our standing with God. However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be doing good things because we belong to God and are dedicated to serving Him once we place our faith in Christ.

What helps you keep a proper perspective on working for and doing good things for God? Based on today’s scripture passages, how would you explain faith versus doing and being good to someone who doesn’t yet know Christ? Tami
