Today’s reading: James 3:13-18

While the world’s definition of wisdom is equated with having knowledge that is academically acquired or gained through life experiences, godly wisdom is so much more. It goes beyond having acquired knowledge and insight to include our good and godly conduct. The wisdom we obtain from God is “first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere” (vs. 17).

When you think about wisdom and ask God for it, what comes to mind? Are you asking for wisdom as James describes it in James 3:17? Why is peace an important element of godly wisdom? What did God reveal to you about wisdom from this passage? Tami
