Today’s reading: Galatians 6:11-18

As Paul comes to the close of his letter to the church in Galatia, he one more time drives home the point that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not through keeping a set of rules and regulations. Because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, we are no longer bound by the law but instead have freedom in Christ. I love how Paul, as if he hasn’t been bold and absolutely clear throughout his letter, writes, “See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand” (vs. 11), to emphasize even further the importance of his message.

“For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.” (vs. 15)

What does placing your faith in Christ and becoming “a new creation” mean for you personally? How would you explain salvation (being a new creation) to someone who thinks following rules and “being a good person” is what’s required for them to go to heaven? Tami
