Today’s reading: 1 Peter 1:3-12
On pretty much any given day, most of us encounter and deal with difficulty in some area of our life–from something minor and isolated to something that’s a major, all-consuming circumstance.
Given that difficulties are going to come, how we react and ultimately respond to them is important. Even after years of being a Christ-follower, I have to fight against letting my gut–my human reactions–take over and dictate when I encounter problems and trials. So I found Peter’s pointing out how trials “test the genuineness” of our faith helpful in that it served to give me a needed perspective adjustment.
When you encounter difficulty and trials are you quick to seek God through prayer? Do you ask God to help you trust Him and to view the trials as a growing and/or learning opportunity? How does thinking about trials as being “a testing of the genuineness of your faith” help you stand strong and stay the course with God? Tami
